the struggle is real
rachel’s a+++ taste bc the walking dead, game of thrones, oitnb, and now sherlock excuse me while i try not to hyperventilate
from her perspective, though, rachel's probably just uber excited to be in a bigger movie. and it's her job to promote it since she's already in it. sigh. silly rskar, i wish she could've went for something less horrible.
i actually wanted to make a post about this earlier so i’m just gonna piggyback on your question sorry.
i tried to convey part of what you said in the tags but yeah, i totally support rachel venturing into any role, and advancements that she pursues as part of her career. i also understand that scoring a role on the big screen is a difficult thing for any non-hollywood established actor so you really have to take the opportunities that you get, and ofc, promoting your project is just part of the process. so all in all, i’m definitely not condemning her in any way.
however that said, i’m still uncomfortable with this whole idea. fifty shades is just so problematic for me for so many reasons and the fact that it doesn’t infringe on rachel’s personal ethical boundaries bothers me quite a bit. i mean maybe it does, or maybe rachel hasn’t read the whole book since she only plays a small role — either way, i can’t speak for her. but whenever she expresses her enthusiasm for the film, it just invokes this visceral aversion in me.
every time rachel skarsten tweets her excitement about fifty shades of gross i die a little on the inside
